History that brought us to design and develop this kit. . . While drag racing the Hella V (instal @hella_VS) with about 100,000 miles on the odometer, we experienced severe wheel hop. This can be severe and damage expensive components like axles, hubs and differentials ($$$). When you launch a car, the subframe is pushed forward, against the soft factory bushings. When tires break traction, the load on the bushing goes away and the subframe quickly is pushed back to its static position. This is worse on the longitudinal axisWith the throttle still floored, the subframe reloads again until tires slip again, and this cycle violently repeats itself. Without changing something in the chassis, this cycle only ends when you regain traction or because you broke somehting. So, this set us off in search of what do to about this.
Then, a few months later on a highway in Mexico, we noticed that the car began severely yawing to one side at WOT. It was as if the car had a rudder, steering from the back. This was unnerving and made a track day at Buttonwillow Raceway in California very challenging, especially at the Riverside turn, with a braking zone entry at 120mph leading into a big banked turn. Here, powering out under WOT with the uncontrolled sway sent us lateral and nearly out of control a few times. On the street or at some tracks, this could send you into a curb, off the edge of a roadway, into a wall, or worse, hurting yourself or others.
We realized the issue in both instances was the rear subframe. Cadillac basically used marshmallows. You can cut them out and replace them with solid poly or alumninum, but it is loud, permanent, takes half a day or more for a shop to do it, is expesnive to install and irreversible, plus they add NVH to an otherwise comfy car! Our kits lock your subframe to the unibody, eliminating 80-90% of subframe movement. It resolved our wheel hop and yaw issues. What we didn’t expect was improved the ride quality and we were shocked at how it greatly improved cornering! The car rotates significantly better than it ever could have before.
These kits can be installed on the garage floor in about 3 hours with basic hand tools.

V-Sport RK002 UPDATE 11/7/2024 - Hella V obtained 1:55s at Sonoma Raceway, Sonoma, CA.
V-Sport RK002 UPDATE 7/27/2024 - We had a good solid test day at Laguna Seca on Saturday, four sessions, most about 18-25 miles each with many solid, all out attack laps to evaluate the most recent rear lockout kit insert designs. Simultaneously, we were also evaluating a jump up to ATS-V front brakes and V2 rear brakes. The results were exactly what we hoped for! Our car (the Hella V, insta @hella_vs) car tracks straight and true at WOT. We are absolutely satisfied with the result and hope to be moving along with them soon.
V-Sport RK002 UPDATE 7/26/2024 - V-Sport prototypes installed in Hella V. Fit was snug. On to Laguna Seca, Monterey, CA. Set 1:49s time with Trifecta engine software, Swift Springs, ZZP trailing arms, ATS-V front and CTS-V rear brakes with Carbotech XP12.
V-Sport RK002 UPDATE 7/23/2024 - Our V-Sport prototypes are inbound and should be fitted to a vehicle by the end of the month.
